Chapter 9: Trapped!

“What?!?” I screamed in fear, “It’s blocked!”
“This can’t be happening!” Nabooru panicked.
“Yes it can!” We spun around to see Skullkid laughing at us. We saw his arm begin to bleed and drip. One, two, three drops of blood dripped onto Link’s arm. Yuck!
“What the…!!!!” Zelda screamed in fear, hiding behind Nabooru.
“I hope you stay here for awhile!” Skullkid laughed, tossing his head back in amusement.
“Get away!” I screamed hurling a rock that had fallen in the earth rumble thing at Skullkid. Like everything, he hurled it back and I dodged just in time, landing on my side.
“You don’t need to get out of here!” Skullkid sniggered.
“What are you saying?!?” Nabooru yelled at Skullkid, putting Link into Zelda’s arms and walking over to me to see if I was okay, of course I was. Skullkid threw his head back and cackled. Then, he made a BIG mistake.
“You see, you don’t need to leave here. Besides, the Mask Seller isn’t in Gerudo valley," Skullkid mumbled.
“What?!?” Zelda said. Skullkid placed his hand on his mouth.
     “OOPS!” he yelled.
“Where is he?!” I yelled at Skullkid, sitting up.
“Oh yeah like I’m gonna tell you!” Skullkid laughed flying off right through the boulders. Tael followed but bonked against the boulders, he was not able to get through.
     “Get Tael!” Link gasped.
“Get Tael!” I repeated Link shouting at Nabooru.
     “But why, he…” Nabooru questioned.
“JUST DO IT!” Link yelled, catching his breath. Nabooru grabbed a vase and caught Tael in it as if she was Link catching bugs, except she didn’t lift it up in triumph. She walked over to us and passed the jar to me. I didn’t want it so I gave it to Link; Link gave it to Zelda so Zelda gave it to Nabooru.
“I don’t want it!” Nabooru yelled throwing it across the hall, it cracked open and Tael flew out trying to go through the walls to get to his beloved Skullkid, but it was to no avail. We all ran to where Tael was except Link who lay where he was, breathing deeply. I looked back at Link, scrunched my eyebrows sympathetically, and then rushed back over to him.
“Saria,” Link gulped, trying to retrieve a bit of breath, “Get me to Zelda.” He grasped my hand and fainted.
“No!” I screamed. Of course I didn’t cry. That just isn’t me to cry. I let go of his hand and rushed back over to where Nabooru and Zelda were seeming to torture Tael into telling us where the Mask Seller was.
”No! I will never talk! NEVER!” Tael screamed.
“Tell us now!” Zelda screeched, slapping Tael. Tael remained silent.
“Zelda!” I gasped, “Link needs you!”
“Oh Nayru!” Zelda yelled rushing in the direction of Link.
     “Talk!” Nabooru bellowed at Tael.
“Nabooru there are other ways of making him talk,” I said calmly, I looked at Tael in the eyes, he shuffled back a bit.
“Tael, look at what I am. What am I?” I asked upset.
     “Uhhhhhhhhhhh,” Tael began, “Really tall?”
“NO!” I yelled, “I’m a Skullkid! You know, grab your torch and pitchforks! Doesn’t that bother you?”
“Saria, why are you repeating Shrek?” Nabooru asked.
“Oh,” I said, “I thought it fitted this situation!”
“No,” Tael sighed. “No… No… No.”
“Look Tael,” I began. Suddenly I burst into tears.
“I want to become human again!” I cried. Tael sighed sympathetically.
“Oh alright but Skullkid will kill me!!” Tael sighed.
“I’ll protect you from Skullkid!” Nabooru growled, “Now, where is the Mask Seller!!?”
“Please Tael!” I cried in sadness.
“Okay I’ll tell you if you stop crying!” Tael yelled over my sobbing. I nodded my head and wiped away a tear and hushed.
“Okay I can only tell you if you give me 1,000,000,000 rupees,” Tael laughed jokingly. He was playing with us since he knew he knew something we didn’t.
“Just tell us now!” Nabooru yelled.
“I said what I said and that’s that!” Tael ordered.
“Tell them Tael! Whatever they want to know!”

We looked around to see who said that but we saw no-one.
“Zelda?” I asked, looking at Zelda.
     “What?” Zelda asked.
“Did you just say something?” Nabooru asked.
“No,” Zelda replied once again tending to Link. Zelda tore away some of her dress and wrapped it around Link’s head. The blood soaked through it so Zelda draped another one on top of the first one. We sighed and went back to persuading Tael but then we heard the mysterious voice again.
“Tell both of them, Brother!” we spun around to see Tatl fly up to Tael.
“H-h-h-how did you get away!!?” Tael stammered fearfully.
     “Get away?” I said.
     “Brother?” Nabooru thought aloud.
“Yes,” Tatl replied, looking at us. Then she saw Link.
“*ding ding ding* Link!” Tatl shrieked. She fluttered over to Link but was halted by Navi.
     “Hey buzz off!” Navi ordered.
“Who are you to talk??” Tatl laughed, “I’m Link’s faerie!”
     “I am!” Navi argued.
     “I helped him save Termina!”
“Well I helped him save Hyrule!”
     “So what? Hyrule stinks!”
     “Does not!”
“Yes it does! It can’t even protect itself!”
     “Neither can Termina!”
“Well at least Termina keeps time and is punctual.”
“Shut up!” Tatl and Navi began fighting.

“Give it up guys!” Zelda screamed, slapping both of them but they carried on. “Link is badly injured! Have a bit of consideration!” Tatl and Navi stopped in their tracks.
     “Injured!?” Tatl asked.
“I forgot,” Navi apologized. The two fluttered over to Link and sat by him. Link opened one eye and saw the two faeries.
“W-what?” Link panted, “Who-who are you?”
     “I’m Navi!”
     “And I’m Tatl!”
“We’re now best of friends!” the two faeries chorused.
“That’s good,” Link said, relieved, sitting up.
“No Link!” Zelda said, “Lie down!”
“I don’t want to!” Link sighed, but he had to so he did, but then got up again.
“No! I have to help Saria,” Link said as he got up and tried to stand but he almost fell over.
     “ARGH!” he cried, “MY LEG!”
“Get Nabooru!” Zelda screamed at Tatl and Navi.
“Get Nabooru!” yelled Tatl at Navi.
     “She asked you!” Navi argued.
“Fine then. I’ll go!” Tatl agreed. Tatl flew to where I was and Nabooru.

     “Nabooru!” Tatl yelled.
”What?” Nabooru asked Tatl looking at her.
“Zelda… I mean Link needs you!” Tatl answered, “I’ll stay here with Saria.” Nabooru nodded and ran to Link.
“Tael, tell us where the Mask Seller is for the last time!” I yelled in his face.
     “No!” Tael screamed.
“You’re looking for the Mask Seller?” Tatl asked.
“You didn’t know?” I asked feeling annoyed.
     “No I didn’t!” Tatl replied. I sighed.
“Do you know where he is?” I questioned expectantly.
     “N…yes,” Tatl laughed.
“YES!” I laughed joyously, “So where is he?”
“He is in the…” Tatl began but someone interrupted.
     “Don’t tell them!” Tael yelled.
     “And why not?” Tatl asked.
     “Because,” Tael said proudly.
“I’m gonna tell them,” Tatl said turning to me.
“Well I’m gonna make a load of noise!” Tael argued. “LALALALALALALALA!!!”
“Shut up Tael!” I yelled stuffing him into one of Link’s bottles.
“Finally!” Tatl sighed, “I hate my brother!”
“He’s your brother?” I asked, surprised.
      “Yep," Tatl replied.
“Hmmm,” I smiled. “Anyway, where were you about to say the Mask Seller is?”
“Well, I’ll tell all of you at once! Follow me!” Tatl said motioning me to follow her over to the other three guys. I did, taking the bottle that Tael was in with me.
     “Okay, tell us,” I ordered.
“Tell us what?” Nabooru asked, tending to Link’s leg.
“Where the Mask Seller is,” I said sighing. Suddenly I felt a kind of squeezing sensation on my arms. “AHHH!!” I screamed in pain, grasping my arm in pain.
     “What’s wrong?!” Tatl yelled.
     “My arm!” I yelled.
“What about it?” Tatl asked inconsiderately.
“Shut up Tatl!” Nabooru yelled grabbing ahold of me, “We’ve got to get out of here!”
     “But how?!” I gasped.
”Zelda, can you warp us out of here?” Nabooru asked
“Well…” Zelda sighed, “Only when I’m older.”
     “Yeah, yeah,” Tatl cackled sarcastically.
“Oh fine but it takes up my energy and someone will have to carry me after,” Zelda truthfully said.
“I can’t carry you!” Nabooru sighed, “Link can’t and neither can Tatl! And Link has a broken leg! Who’ll carry him? You have to Zelda!”
“Are you sure it takes up energy?” Tatl asked.
“*Sigh* Fine. I lied,” Zelda said.
“What?!?!? How dare you!” Link yelled but he was too out of breath to yell loudly so it was kind of a squeak. I rolled my… Ah! I need the LOO, reader! Hang on! Don’t go!

Hello reader! This is Link speaking! I want to ask you how the story has been going so far. So how is it? Good? What? Yes, it’s good? Wrong answer. You now get a 30 day trial from me so therefore… OH NO! Here comes Saria! RUN!

Hi reader! I was quick wasn’t I? Oh well carry on with the story I go. Okay where was I? Oh yes.

I rolled my eyes in stupidity and closed my eyes again since I was so tired. I kept my hand clung to my arm in agony and hate. Skullkid was gonna pay I assure you.
“Okay I’ll carry Link after we’ve teleported outta here!” Zelda said surrendering to us.
     “Good, now teleport,” Nabooru said.
“AHHHH!” I yelled in pain from my arm.
“Now!” Nabooru yelled. Zelda nodded. She closed her eyes and lifted her arms up. A purple and green light began to surround her. It ascended around her, swirling like wind. Then the same thing surrounded us and we all suddenly vanished, except Tael.
“Hey! Wait for me!” he yelled pushing against the boulders. “Oh great! This is just great!”

***

     “Oh finally!” Zelda whimpered.
“Let’s go!” Nabooru said. We all nodded.
“Ready!” Breeze, Tatl and Navi chimed.
“Let’s go,” Link said, trying to stand up, but of course if you have a broken leg then you can’t right?
     “Ready too!” Zelda mumbled, sweating.
     “Me three,” I said.
“Zelda, get Link,” Nabooru ordered Zelda. She did.
“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven… hmm,” Nabooru counted us pointing as she did. “Hey! Where’s Tael?”
“Grrrr!” Zelda growled, “I’m not going back in!” She crossed her arms, closed her eyes and stood in a moody position lifting her head and tapping her feet. We all looked at her wonderingly.
“What?” Zelda asked, opening her eyes and shrugging.
“Go,” we all chorused except Zelda.
“*Sigh*” Zelda looked up in a regretful position and mumbled something as she cast the teleport spell once again. She disappeared.

“Well, we’ll have to wait,” I said.
“Duh!” Link laughed rolling his eyes.
“Don’t “duh” at me Link!” I yelled.
“Oh yeah!?” Link yelled, standing up.
“I’ll show you!” I yelled waving my fist of the arm which was hurting.
     “AHHH! MY LEG!”
     “ARGH! MY ARM!”
“Okay you two stop it!” Nabooru yelled motherly. We both looked ashamed.
“Sorry Nabooru,” we both apologized… sarcastically.
“It’s ok,” Nabooru said, putting me down. I weigh a lot you know; 10 stone or something.
“Please Nabooru; it hurts when I stand up!” I whined, rubbing my arm.
“Come and sit on my lap, Saria,” Link requested.
“No,” I said as if it was disgusting. Link gave me an apologetic look.
“It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s that I don’t feel nice to you,” I mumbled loudly.
“Its fine, Saria; I don’t mind,” Link said.
“Okay,” I agreed, sitting down on his lap.
“That’s what I like to see,” Nabooru said again motherly rubbing our heads, messing up our hair.
“O-kayyyyyyyy…” I dragged the last letter.
     “Scaaaaaaarrrrrryyyyyyyy!” Link dragged also.
“What?” Nabooru laughed, “I was joking!”
“Yeah, yeah!” I laughed, “Yeah, yeah!”

Meanwhile, where Zelda was…

     “Come on Tael!”
“Don’t want to!” Tael said like that brattish kid would.
     “Please!” Zelda begged.
     “No!” Tael argued.
“Please oh please oh please!” Zelda pleaded getting down on her knees.
“Grrrr!” Tael growled, “Just leave me alone!!”
“*Sigh*” Zelda sighed. “Fine then, stay here and die of hunger.”
“Yes! I’ll be more than hap… WHAT!?!?” Tael screeched in surprise.
“Heheh so will you come?” Zelda asked happy that she had found something to convince Tael.
“Absolutely not!” Tael yelled, “I’ll find my own way out thank you!”
“Fine then. I’ll be gone,” Zelda agreed finally. She began to cast her spell to teleport.

“Go with Zelda!” a little voice whispered to Tael.
“Don’t listen to him!” another voice whispered. Suddenly, two small faeries popped up next to Tael; one red and one white.
“Go to her!” the white Tael whispered.
“Don’t listen to him!” Red Tael growled.
“But why not listen?” Tael asked.
“Number one,” the red Tael began, “He wears a dress!”
“It’s a robe!” White Tael growled back.
“Second of all, look what I can do!” Red Tael boasted. He did a hand stand with one hand pushing up and down.
“What’s that got to do with anything?” Tael asked.
“No, no,” White Tael began, “He has got a point.”
“Look guys,” Tael began nervously, “I don’t wanna stay in this boiler so I’m gonna go!”
“Fine then!” Red Tael sobbed angrily.
“Good choice Mr. Know-it-all!” White Tael cheered disappearing. Poof.
“Bye stupid-choices guy!” Red Tael vanished.
“Argh!” Tael sighed, “Finally they’re gone! Ah! Oh No Zelda! Wait!” Just when Zelda was about to vanish, Tael flew right into her and flew up with the light.

***

“I’m getting pretty bored here!” I whined.
     “I’m hot!” Link complained.
     “Me too!” I agreed.
“Okay guys get used to here!” Nabooru said. “Jeez it’s not that hot!”
“Well duh!” Link sighed, “Maybe that has something to do with…”

“I’m here!” Zelda said as she appeared next to Nabooru, arms outstretched.
“Whah!” Nabooru screeched in fear. “Y-you startled me!”
“Ahahahaha!” Link laughed, pointing at Nabooru. I giggled along even though I didn’t find it that funny.
“It’s not funny!” Nabooru said in a low tone of voice glaring at Link with a scowling look.
     “It is Nabooru!” Zelda giggled.
“Yeah whatever!” Nabooru mumbled under her breath.
“Let’s go now!” I yelled impatiently.
“She’s got a point,” Link said.
     “A point!?” Tael yelled.
“Wha…?” Zelda yelled in shock looking at Tael. “How did you get here?”
“I went in your teleport duh!” Tael answered.
     “Yeah as if!” Link laughed.
“Can we go now!!!? I want to be a human again!” I said with a tear rolling down my cheek.
“She’s got a good point why to go!” Link said sympathetically.
“A point!?” Tael yelled angrily, “And that reminds me! What were the little red and white Tael’s that were hovering on my shoulder and were telling me what to do?!”
“There were tails on your shoulders!?” Nabooru laughed.
“Not tails as in a dog’s tail, Taels as in me!” Tael yelled annoyed.
“Oh heheh right,” Nabooru whispered embarrassedly.
“That’s it!” I growled stamping my foot. I was so fed up! I began to go off by myself running. The others didn’t realize until I was gone. Link realized that I was gone and knew that I had gone alone.
“Wait Saria! Wait!” Link yelled at me. He looked at Zelda, then Nabooru with a disappointed look and then glanced away. He stood up and tried to run. Limping was what happened.
“Link! Don’t go after her!” Zelda bellowed at Link.
     “I have to!” Link answered.
“No! No, no no no no no!” Nabooru called running after him and Navi. Zelda, Breeze, Tatl and Tael all looked at each other.
“Wait for us!” they all yelled except for Tael. Tael looked at the three as they ran after Nabooru. Tael sighed.
“Wait for me!” he yelled flying after them. We all headed into the Haunted Wasteland.
