Chapter 1: The Start
With a final shudder, the monster crashed to the floor, nothing more than a pile of rubble. As the group cheered, a dark figure ran, unnoticed, out of the dungeon and toward the mountains.
5 minutes later, the figure reached the lowest peak and dashed into a narrow cave entrance. "Master…"
"Hmmm…? Ah, yes, what of Link and his companions?"
"They have defeated your stone knuckle sire…and they are approaching the desired destination."
"Exxxxcccceeeelllleeennnnttttt…"
After another 10 minutes, Link, Steph, Lloyd, and Paul stepped out of the dungeon and out into the sunlight.
"Whew," Link sighed, "that was a tough one, good thing you figured out how to beat it Steph."
"Well, what can I say? I rock."
"Um…I think you forgot, we helped too!!!" Paul yelled in his face. Just then, they noticed someone, or something, skirting the edge of the field, as if trying to avoid them.
"Sssshhhh…" Link whispered, "over there." The others nodded. As they got closer and closer to the thing, Lloyd stepped on Paul's foot, "Hey!" Link whipped his head around, "SSSSHHHHH!!!!!" But too late, the thing had already heard them, and now started sprinting furiously toward the mountains.
Meanwhile…
"Fool!! He should have hidden himself, no matter…"
"Sire?"
"Yes?"
"May I suggest something?"
"…"
"Very well, might I suggest that you send me to accompany them on their quest when they reach Clocktown, so…"
"Enough!! Yes, you shall, you shall…but make sure they reach Snowhead Temple safely, and come back to me when you have seen to it that all except Link are disposed of…I have…some plans for Link…"
"Yes, sire…"
"Now…to take care of that abysmal old fool…"
Outside the dungeon…
"Aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!" Link growled. They almost had the thing, if only Paul hadn't been so careless…whoa! Careful Link, he thought, don't wanna get too carried away… "Hhhhuuuuhhh…" Link sighed again, calming back down. He walked over to a large, flat rock and sat down.
A gentle breeze came, ruffling his tunic and hair. What he really needed now was a break from all this, the crystals, the monsters, and maybe even from his new friends.
