I hope that everyone who wanted to see independently-made Zelda film The Hero of Time has seen it by now,
because I have some rather unfortunate news. The movie is no longer available for viewing. The following statement has been posted by the film's producers, BMB Finishes:
Hey, everyone. We just wanted to let you know that Dec. 31 was the last day that The Hero of Time was available for viewing. We came to an agreement with Nintendo earlier this month to stop distributing the film. In the spirit of the holiday season they were good enough to let us keep the movie up for you to watch and enjoy through the end of 2009, but not past 2009. We understand Nintendo’s right to protect its characters and trademarks and understand how in order to keep their property unspoiled by fan's interpretation of the franchise, Nintendo needs to protect itself — even from fan-works with good intentions.
This has been quite an adventure for us and we have a real sense of peace bringing the project to a close. Between the screenings and the online release many of you were able to see the film and we hope to not have only inspired those of you that live, breathe and dream Zelda but we also hope to have inspired all of you aspiring filmmakers out there! Thank you again for all your patience with the project and we hope you had as much fun watching our movie as we did making it. Thanks for all your wonderful messages of encouragement and support! I'm sure our next project will be right around the corner! No, it's not Majora's Mask : )

Zelda fans have long viewed the idea of a movie based on the series with a mixture of excitement and trepidation, wondering if it is possible to
successfully adapt the beloved video game series onto the big screen. Nintendo won't give the go-ahead for an official movie, but a few years ago a group
called BMB Finishes announced that they were making an independent Zelda movie called The Hero of Time. When the first trailer for this movie was
released in early 2006, it sparked heated discussion among Zelda fans, some loving the fact that Zelda was being brought to the big screen, while others
didn't like the look of the film one bit. And while The Hero of Time is not the only Zelda fan-film to have been made, it remains as the most
high-profile of them all. Regardless of whether they loved or hated the idea of it, many fans closely followed the progress of this movie. After several
years, the movie is now complete, and the wait has been worth it. Read more... Add and read comments...Monday, August 10 2009

Three weeks ago, The Hero of Time had its world premiere in Atlanta. There were two screenings, with a great turn-out
at both. The response from the audience was very positive, and a great time was had by those who attended. For those who couldn't make it, here is the video
from the evening:
I've also had many emails from people who couldn't attend the premiere asking if the movie will be released on DVD or online. The answer is that yes, it will
be, but first more screenings are being planned. You'll have to stay tuned for announcements on further screenings, but these will likely be held
in the US. But if you won't be able to make it to a screening, don't worry! As I said, it will be released to the world eventually. I'm in the same boat as
you are, and I'm really looking forward to finally getting to see the film.
