REVIEW THIS STORY

Author's Note:

I would like to point out that I will be using different stories which I will try to have posted two at a time. One from the following prologue, and one from an alternate prologue, just to mix things up a bit. This prologue is exploring the idea of what happens after Link returns from Termina. Lets say that this is an alternate version of a Link to the Past). I'm only saying this one time: in no way am I affiliated with Nintendo. I have no legal rights over the Zelda franchise, and I am not receiving any financial benefits from this story. This is also my first fan fiction story I have written, and it won't be my last.

Winds howled as they travelled through Hyrule Field ferociously. Grass and various trees were swaying as the gust overtook the landscape. Heavy rain and stinging hail accompanied this wind, destroying various plants and killing small animals too unfortunate to escape the forces of nature. Hyrule Field was barren in any storm, usually. But on this night, a shadowy figure atop a muscle-bound steed quickly shot through the field, creating a streak of perspiration and icy hail with every inch they would advance. Who this figure was, exactly, was a mystery to anyone lucky enough to actually see it.
Just a little closer now, the figure thought, as they approached Lon Lon Ranch. This farm was the major supplier of milk throughout Hyrule. Its cows had some kind of rich spirit, which would pass through the various sorts of dairy products made from the milk, giving a pep to anyone's step. The shrubs surrounding the ranch were almost completely torn away from the fence they had grown upon. Only small stringlets remained. As the horse entered through the open farm gates, the figure atop slowed his mare to a halt, and tied her reins to a support in a nearby stable. The stable had complete protection from the elements, giving any horse inside comfort. The shadowed figure wandered over to one of the two doors entering the buildings in the ranch, sheilding his exposed eyes from the hail.
I hope she remembers who I am, the figure thought. I need a place to stay, badly. Another night like this would be unbearable.
With no hesitation, the cloaked figure formed his hand into a fist, heavily knocking on the mahogany door. The ranch has changed a lot since my last visit, the shadowed figure thought. I guess five years really does bring new things. Another pound was forced upon the door until the brass knob started to turn slowly. The door inched open, revealing a red-headed girl in her nightgown. She looked at the figure with a hint of fear in her eyes.
"C-can I help you?" she stuttered, caused by her dread of seeing this scary cloaked thing, or the cold winds wisping through the open door.
Without answering, the figure lowered the hood that had engulfed his face to reveal an all too familiar face. His golden blonde hair and azure blue eyes had been a dead give-away for this girl.
"So, Malon," he started. "Is there any chance I can stay for the night?"
"I can't believe it’s you!" she screamed with excitement and joy. "Please come in, Link!"
Link? He had always wondered where his name came from. It always did seem a little awkward to him, but it did seem to fit him well, being one third of the link between the Triforce, Hyrule's ancient divine relic, in which many followers had been formed from.
"Wow Malon," Link said as he quickly stepped into the warm, fire-lit home of this girl. "A lot has been changed around-."
Before he had finished his sentence, Malon wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, embracing him in an extremely long hug.
"When you left for that so-called quest, I was so lonely," she said, sobbing on his shoulder. "I have had no friends since you left. You always accepted me no matter how weird I was, or am. I have just missed you so much!"
"I have missed you too, Malon," Link replied. "But I am here now, and I am not going anywhere. I just want to have my life in Hyrule unfold as it will from now on."
The fireplace flickered gallantly in the corner of the living room they were standing in, as if it were responding to the emotional flood brought among this nice little farm home. The two stood there, hugging and talking about their mixed feelings. As though an eternity had passed, the two stood in the living room, not loosening their hug one bit, until the fire had finally changed from a burning orange flame into glowing red coals. The light slowly left the house, laying a large blanket of darkness over the entire room.
"You promise you won't leave?" Malon said, looking up where Links face should be, blinded by darkness.
"I would never lie to you," he replied.
Malon then felt Link's breath close in on her. In the darkness, she felt Link's fleshy lips touch her own, while his hand wiped a tear from her cheek. Startled by this, Malon had many thought run through her head. Oh no! Not now! I dont know what to do! Am I screwing it up? This is my first? What if Link doesn't Like it? In the middle of that, one final thought crept up on her. Close your eyes and kiss him back, stupid! With no objection, Malon listened to her last thought, closing her eyes and kissing back, until she seemed to get lost in her emotions.

Author's Note:

So, how was it, even though it was just a prologue to the stories I will be writing shortly? Did I do a decent job? I hope I made at least one Zelda fan, other than myself of course, excited for the stories that are to come. Anyway, I am not positive when the continuation of this story will be written. If anyhing, expect the other prologue I talked about to be up before anything else.
