At first I was surprised that LoZ was ranked higher than LttP or OoT for example, but the list is based on the games that had the biggest impact. And well, without LoZ, you wouldn't even have LttP or OoT!

I believe it's called "Adventure." #59. If you want to talk about impact I have to nod to that game. Though it was simple(your imagination had to fill in all the blanks) it was pretty much the first console adventure rpg that I know of. There were probably text-based ones before that, but that one opened up the possibility for games like Zelda to exist.

Mario 64 looked awful then and it looks even worse today. Nothing can beat Uncharted 2 right now, and I think with that game, we’ve finally reached a point where we can stop being ashamed.

Yeah sure it looked alittle blocky but it was the start of 3D and it opened the door for today's awsomeness. If it weren't for the N64's "blocky" graphics we'd still be playing side scrollers and top veiwers and 8-16 bit games. Those idiots don't see the point of games it's the game play.

It may have been blocky, but they were amazing for the time. And the fact that he compared N64 games with the PS3 game, Uncharted 2, only shows how intellegent PS3 fanboys are. They don't understand the concept of actual gameplay and only care about graphics. Pfff... whatever happened to the golden age of gaming, where it wasn't a battle of which game has the best graphics?

That age is long gone... these people have lost all sense of what the components of a quality game are. Good greaphics are great, but they do not make or break a game.

Well said. Moreover, the aforementioned idiots don't see the point of evolution; ANY innovation such as the first forays into 3D will look primitive once the technology has adapted and improved over time, but they were crucial stepping stones along the way nonetheless, and to dismiss them is downright disrespectful. Grrr.

I always say that. That games are about the gameplay and NOT the graphics. Just because a game has shitty graphics doesn't make it a bad game, and just because a game has amazing graphics doesn't mean it's good. People need to learn that! Did they all forget how good those old 8/16-bit consoles were and all their great games? If so, someone seriously needs to bea some sense into them.

Looking back at my post it looks like I'm putting down 8/16 bit games (I know someone will say I am eventually) I love the old games they created games with plots and brought back gaming in the U.S. that some older games killed looking at you E.T. But as we've said games aren't about graphics they're about gameplay. Ofcourse in an old issue of Nintendo Power some people complained about the "Cartoony Graphics" of Wind Waker another classic example of ideots who think that great graphics make games.

Well, I would say Classic Zelda rocks even if it didn't get #1 in the charts. But then again, classic zelda was brand new when I was a kid
